ADA Health Foundation
A permanent endowment fund dedicated to preventing dental caries and other oral diseases of children.

Adobe Action Grants Program
supports programs and partnerships designed to help make Adobe communities "better, stronger, and more vibrant places to live, work and do business." The Adobe Action Grant program provides one-time cash-only grants for general operating and program support through a competitive, quarterly online application process.

Allen Foundation, Inc.
Supports grants for education, training and research in human nutrition. Of special interest to the foundation are: 1) programs that target young students to improve their health and development; 2) training programs for educators concerned with good nutritional practices; 3) programs that educate and train mothers (particularly teen mothers) during pregnancy and postpartum about the importance of good nutrition; and 4) programs that aid in the dissemination of information regarding good nutritional practices.

American Psychiatric Foundation

Arthur Vining Davis Foundations
This program supports efforts to encourage caring attitudes in the delivery of patient care. Projects should have potential for widespread practical application and should be of interest to other groups. New ideas are encouraged, especially if they facilitate communication between patients (and their families) and doctors, nurses and other caregivers; ameliorate patient anxieties; strengthen trust and cooperation; and foster caring attitudes.

AT&T Foundation
Grants to nonprofit organizations for innovative programs that focus on helping people achieve self-sufficiency and lead productive lives. The foundation is particularly inclined toward projects that employ innovative technological solutions awards grants in the following program areas: education, civic & community service, and arts & culture.

Bamford-Lahey Children’s Foundation
Supports programs that will enhance the linguistic, cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.

Bank of America Foundation
Supports programs in early childhood development, economic and financial education and teacher development.

Baxter International Foundation
Funds initiatives that benefit the entire health field, including projects that improve quality, cost-effectiveness, access or education, and may be designed as models for larger programs. Frequently, projects focus on improving the health of children through preventive efforts. The foundation also places emphasis on increasing the availability, commitment and skills of health-care providers, and supports efforts to improve career prospects in health care for minorities, women and disabled persons.

Bayer Hemophilia Awards Program
Funds clinical research and educational projects of early career investigators, fellows in training, and hemophilia professionals. Encourages hemophilia professionals to expand the knowledge base of hemophilia-related bleeding disorders. Provides an opportunity for new physicians to enter the field of hemophilia.

Provides grants to support programs that encourage early intellectual development of pre-school age children. Funding is provided for projects that achieve the following outcomes: school readiness by age 5; increased availability and quality of early care; safe and supportive communities, where children have access to adequate food, shelter, and basic services, and are free from crime and violence.

Beaumont Foundation of America - Free Computers
Dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals by providing technology to historically underserved schools and communities.

Beez Foundation
Mission is to raise money for pediatric brain cancer research and pediatric patient services.

Best Buy Children's Foundation Programs Benefiting School-Aged Children
The mission of is to improve the lives of school-aged children in communities where Best Buy maintains a business presence. Awards grants to nonprofit organizations that take an innovative approach to building life skills in young people through education, mentoring and leadership development.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Has a program focused on the Pacific Northwest which supports non-profit organizations in Washington and Oregon. The Pacific Northwest program is comprised of three giving areas: Community Grants, Community Access to Technology and Sound Families. In Washington and Oregon, the foundation supports organizations that provide assistance to families including: shelter, abuse prevention, enrichment activities, education, job training, youth civic involvement, mental health services, and after-school programs, among others. The CAT grant program is designed to assist nonprofits in Washington state deliver access to information technologies to state residents.

The Community Toolbox for Children's Environmental Health is an organization that provides grants in conjunction with capacity building training and technical assistance to parent and other community-based groups.

Comprehensive Health Education Foundation Grants
The purpose of Comprehensive Health Education Foundation is to promote health and quality of life through education. C.H.E.F. is interested in funding health education and leadership programs within the early childhood and school-aged youth.

Computer Associates Community Grants

John Deere Foundation
Supports programs in education, health and human services, community development, and arts and culture.

Kresge Foundation

March of Dimes Washington State Chapter Community Grants
The purpose of the Chapter Grants program is to provide seed money for programs whose primary focus is the provision of services which lead to the prevention of birth defects, prematurity, and infant mortality. Chapter Grants are awarded once a year.

March of Dimes Birth Defects National Foundation
Funds grants supporting research including basic biological processes governing development, genetics, clinical studies, studies of reproductive health, environmental toxicology, and social and behavioral studies. Also supports research that advances the understanding of the cognitive, social and behavioral risks and processes that affect pregnancy outcomes, the perinatal period and subsequent child development.

Markle Foundation (John and Mary R.)
The Foundation has four active program areas: 1) Public Engagement through Interactive Technologies; 2) Policy for a Networked Society; 3) Interactive Media for Children; and 4) Information Technologies for Better Health.

Mattel Children's Foundation
supports organizations that serve children in communities within the U.S. that address a locally defined need. Priority is given to programs that align with Mattel's philanthropic priorities: health, education, and girl's empowerment.

The trustees combined Mrs. Katzenbach's special interest in the treatment of pain with her establishment of the Mayday Fund and dedicated it to one purpose: reduction of the physical and psychological toll of pain and its consequences.

Medina Foundation
Funding areas include emergency and critical human services, pre-school to 12th grade educational opportunities, substance abuse, domestic violence, and services for those with disabilities. National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates & Pracitioners
NAPNAP hopes to explore "new avenues to health care" access for our children. by offering grants to members and chapters.

National Center for Family Friends (NCFF)
Part of the National Council on the Aging, Family Friends is an intergenerational volunteer program that pairs older volunteers (men and women age 55 and over) with families who have children with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses.

National Gardening Association - Youth Garden Grants Program
Through its Youth Garden Grants Program, supports projects that emphasize children and youth learning by working in an outdoor garden.

National Network of Libraries of Medicine
The mission is "to advance the progress of medicine and improve the public health. The Regional Medical Library for the Pacific Northwest Region of the NN/LM, at the University of Washington, seeks to promote outreach throughout the region by offering Mini-awards for Training, Exhibiting, and Upgrading Connections.

National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) A not-for-profit research and education foundation that seeks to improve health care safety by studying errors in the nation's health care system and implementing safeguards to prevent patient injury.

NEC Foundation of America
Focuses on technology for people with disabilities.

Nick Traina Foundation
The Foundation’s goal is to provide funds in areas related to manic-depressive illness and its diagnosis, including research and treatment, and funding organizations that help families who continue to battle the illness.

Nike Corporation
Focuses on programs that support youth and physical activity, and the positive effects of the two. Programs should increase and promote physical activity in some way. Added: 11/16/04

Northwest Health Foundation
Open to innovative projects that address health protection, quality of health care, access to health care, basic and applied biomedical, health, and socio-behavioral research, education for health professionals and consumers, and mental health in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
